The Day

feast on the farm folks

The day will be casual and fun! Grab a drink and join together for conversation and a welcome from the Culinary Tourism Alliance and some wonderful community partners. Next up, you’ll get a chance to enjoy canapés and meals through out your time as they come up nice and warm from chefs.

In addition to the food, there will also be live music from RBC and time to chat with chefs and purveyors. PLUS don’t miss out on a wonderful tour of Lang Pioneer Village!

The Chefs + Menus

We’re thrilled to be bringing together three incredibly talented chefs for this Feast On® the Farm event to bring guests a true Taste of Peterborough & the Kawarthas.

Chef Brad Watt is bringing his A-game, crafting high quality dishes with locally sourced ingredients that Publican House Brewery and Pub is known for. Chef Tyler Scott from Rare Escape will be serving up goodness inspired by the wild nature of his culinary experiences, and the offerings from Chef Lisa Dixon, owner of Black Honey in downtown Peterborough, will be nothing short of delectable.

So what’s on the menu?

Canapes

Kick off the event with two delightfully delicious canapés: a red fife wheat Bannock with smoked trout mousse and radish sprouts, and a maple poached Otonabee bacon with spiced pea puree.

The Mains

Next up, it’s time for mains and there’s no need to choose just one – these talented chefs will be serving up plenty of all.

Those feeling adventurous will love the confit duck with a parsnip and thyme cracker on red fife fry bread with goat ricotta, fire-charred wild leek, pickled spruce tip, and maple syrup. If you eat plant-based, opt for a roasted oyster mushrooms instead of the duck!

Next up, a Kawartha Pork and Wild Leek Sausage with wild rice and cheddar porridge that is finished with maple and pollen – scrumptious!

The final main is a fried zucchini nest with soft egg sous vide, beet “down” and finished with sumac-spiced hollandaise. There will also be a plant-based option of sous vide tofu and miso hollandaise.

Dessert

Finally, what would a meal be without a sweet finish? We don’t want to know. Our chefs will have a Desbarres saffron chocolate pot de crème on deck with a white chocolate saffron ganache.

The Bar

Of course, Ontario’s food scene also extends to drinks! We can’t wait to celebrate a number of Ontario craft beverage producers at the event. Grab your complimentary Feast On® mason jar and fill it up with the likes of:
