These Ontario On-Farm Experiences Give A Whole New Meaning to Farm-To-Table

Weve put together a list of some top deliciously unique farm-to-table (literally, most of these are in some type of barn!) experiences you can find across the province this summer.

South Pond Farms  Pontypool, Ontario

Full Moon Supper Series: With each full moon, South Pond will celebrate the bounty and the land through dinners made with local, fresh ingredients of the season to create unique and delicious menus. Full Moon Suppers are served al fresco, under the stars with a bonfire. Chef McKenna will prepare four courses profiling their own local produce, meats, cheese, bread beer and wine. Country Farmhouse Supper Series: A monthly dinner series featuring farm to table dining. Each event will have a unique theme and menu like ?Wild Things? or ?Fire and Smoke?. This series is an opportunity for South Pond to experiment with flavour and culture in the romantic rustic setting in the rolling hills of Bethany.

J.K. Farm  Hillier, Ontario

Jamie Kennedy Farm Summer Dinner Series: Immerse yourself in this dining experience featuring ingredients produced from the farms, lakes and streams of Prince Edward County. Working with the many talented individuals of the region, Chef Kennedy invites you to enjoy a delicious, harmonious food and wine experience that resonates with a genuine expression of this unique place. Walk around the organic gardens and fields, up to the vineyard ridge for a sparkling drink and canapAs, and then on to a lively evening feast seated in a rustic barn setting. Watch as your dinner is prepared, cooked outside over glowing embers.

The Sacred Gardener Golden Lake, Ontario

Forage and Feast Series: This is a dream day for food lovers, wild food enthusiasts and people into practicing traditional skills.  You will get the chance to walk the land, learn about wild plants and forage and then indulge in a local, wild infused, organic lunch. The day will be completed with a focus on processing, preparing and cooking the food youve collected and an early farm-style dinner.

Landman Gardens  Grand Valley, Ontario

Blackhouse Dinners: Landman Gardens property features lovely, historic dry stone buildings – the largest being a Blackhouse. In this Blackhouse they host themed, five-course farm to table dinners that run from April – November. The ingredients used in cooking the dinners are raised/grown on our farm or are sourced locally.

EcoTray Barns  Perth, Ontario

Barns, Farms & Wicked Chefs, Saturday August 26th: A magical fundraising event featuring farm-to-plate dishes prepared by the regions top chefs. Guests circulate around the historic farm property from one delectable dish to another, all the while being entertained by summer music. All proceeds from the event will go to support The Table Community Food Centres innovative programming.

Haute Goat  Newtonville, Ontario

Farm Life Workshop Series: This series of classes, workshops and other learning opportunities will give you insight and hands-on experience in a number of different aspects of farm life (like beekeeping or milking a goat). Each two-hour workshop is led by an expert working in the area they are teaching. Lunch and farm stays are also available. Dont forget the super adorable goats roaming the property!
