On Saturday, March 25, Southbrook Vineyards is hosting their fourth annual Earth Hour Winery Dinner.
Their Feast On Certified winery restaurant, Farmers’ Table is is welcoming chefs John & Tania Vetere of The Norton Underground. They’ll be creating a one-of-kind five course-dinner with all-Southbrook wine pairings.
In true Earth Day style, the dinner will be served by candlelight, with courses prepared using the lowest possible carbon footprint to help promote climate awareness.
What does that mean? The menu will focus on locally sourced, biodynamic foods with priorities given to foods that are cellar stored or naturally preserved. There’ll be cured and smoked carrot lox, loads of brassicas and pickled things on the menu. For dessert, they’re serving a swoon worthy PB & J Algonquin Grits Pudding with candied Niagara grown peanuts.
Southbrook Vineyards has long been known for their Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, classic Bordeaux blends and Chardonnays, but it’s their commitment to organic and biodynamic winery practices that truly make them shine. They make an effort to live in harmony with the land and their environment on a daily basis. This beautiful dinner is one more way to spread the word that living a sustainable, low-impact lifestyle is possible.
