Simcoe County
Discover what's on their table.

Simcoe County is a four-season destination lying between Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe and is less than one hour north of Toronto.

Cast your line in Georgian Bay or in one of many bays, rivers and streams of Simcoe County for some of the best year-round fishing.  The Trent Severn Waterway traverses the County going through Lake Simcoe, Lake Couchiching and the Severn River where it spills into Georgian Bay, providing a boater’s haven.  Spend the day sailing or enjoy the thrill of water skiing or tubing.  Paddle a canoe or kayak along the Nottawasaga River Canoe Route or spend the day building sandcastles at Wasaga Beach, the longest freshwater beach in the world!

Beyond that, there are so many delicious ways to enjoy the taste of Simcoe County!  Pick up a homemade pie at one of the region’s many farmers’ markets or visit a working farm with the kids and go for a wagon ride.  Wrap up the day by indulging in a satisfying meal at one of the wonderful dining spots scattered across the county.  The menu of options varies from scrumptious comfort food to fine dining.

So whether you come for a day or a week, whether it is for a ride on a steam train, tree trekking high above a forest floor or experience the adrenalin rush of zip lining, you will have lots to choose from when you get away to it all in Simcoe County!

Road-tripping through Simcoe County means stopping in at Weber’s for a burger, shake and poutine. Except a line-up, but it moves quickly. Plant yourself at a picnic bench to enjoy your haul or better yet, snag a spot in one of the refurbished train cars!

For the bakers and gluten lovers, we highly recommend a stop in at K2 Milling in Beeton, Ontario. This heritage mill makes some of the provinces most beautiful flours — and they’re sold in old fashioned canvas sacks!

For those who love jerk chicken as much as we do, Angie’s Place is Simcoe County’s best kept secret! Order ahead to secure an order of dumplings to pair with your meal.

Midland offers a wealth of eating and drinking experiences for those looking to go off the beaten path.
