What is Kingstonlicious?
Kingstonlicious is a three-month event featuring prix fixe menus at over twenty local restaurants, several signature events with mouthwatering food and even some great packages to make staying in Kingston easier and more delicious than ever! Read on.
There will be not one, not two but SEVEN signature events you won’t want to miss out on during Kingstonlicious. They’ve only announced the three so far and we’re already chomping at the bit. Each event pairs up with a Kingston chef for a fantastic tastebud adventure you won’t soon forget!
Apres Sauna + Fondue at the Secret Garden Inn
Grab your swimsuit to take part in a 75-minute guided sauna experience with those you love most! Unwind and relax and don’t sweat the small stuff.
When you’re done, grab your robe and indulge in a seafood fondue feast paired with a great selection of natural wines. Uh…we’re drooling.
For the Love of Cheese at AquaTerra
Love cheese? We think it’s pretty unbrielievable too. At this event, Chef Brent McAllister of AquaTerra is partnering up Maitre Fromager, Afrim Pristine, of Toronto’s Cheese Boutique to offer a multi-course menu with cheese right at the heart of it.
All those cheeses will be paired up with wines during each course and the cheese as well as their accoutrements will be for sale if guests want to try and recreate the ooey gooey magic at home.
Wanna talk about dessert? Mio Gelato (who are also participating in Kingstonlicious) will be creating a special dessert for this event!
Dim Sum Meetings Trinidadian Delights at Northside Espresso + Kitchen
Feast on a unique multicultural brunch as three chefs partner up to create a little taste bud treat. NORTHSIDE Espresso + Kitchen’s Chef Art All will be bringing in Chef Nick Liu of Toronto’s DaiLo (shout out for a Feast On® restaurant!) and Kingston’s Sally’s Roti Shop to serve up a dim sum platter followed by a Trinidadian breakfast plate, Sara roti and chakra and finally, a special dessert to bring the two worlds together. Our stomachs are howling!
Michelin-star studded pasta soirée at The Everly
Carb lovers unite! This pasta-centric evening is sure to please the palate.
During this event, Chef Joel Watanabe of Vancouver’s Kissa Tanto (recently awarded a Michelin star) is teaming up with The Everly’s Jamie Hodge and Bellen Tong of Miss Bao’s to craft something truly unforgettable.
The evening will focus on handcrafted pasta and you’ll surely be able to taste the love that goes into each and every bite.
To top it all off, guest sommeliers from Toronto’s Grape Witches will be joining in on the fun to pair biodynamic and natural wine from B.C. and international destinations with the menu. This female-owned business is sure to pick out some great flavour combos.
Prix Fixe Menus
With menus like these, you will want to treat yourself to more than one dinner out in Kingston (trust us). Menus fit into one of three categories: $25, $50 and $65 and there are loads of exclusive tastes to be had.
Insider Tip: The menus say whether this price is for one or two people so be sure to check! You’re bound to find some wicked deals.
Participating Feast On® Restaurants
We’d be remiss if we didn’t give a special shout-out to our Feast On® partner restaurants who are participating in Kingstonlicious this year. Here’s what we’re really excited to try from each of them:
- AquaTerra ($65): This three-course menu is packed with goodness and we’re already salivating at the thought of dessert- a Mango & Saffron Pavlova
- Atomica ($50): Spanish Niçoise Salad gives this menu a fresh taste to really zing in the new year
- Black Dog Tavern ($50): Pan-Seared Salmon with Pecorino Romano? We curd hardly resist.
- Dianne’s Fish Shack & Smokehouse ($65): You know we love a tostada and this meal comes with a tuna tostada appetizer so…enough said.
- Harper’s Burger Bar ($25): Where are our vegans at? You might not think you’d find heaven at a burger bar, but the vegan chilli is calling your name.
*Also, we feel it’s important to note that Harper’s also has a chicken burger on a donut…for our meat-eating friends.
- Wharf & Feather ($65): We’re already dreaming of the sweet potato gnocchi ragout that comes as a choice in this three-course meal for two.
In addition to some great Feast On® partners, there are loads of excellent other restaurants showcasing their cuisine in a huge array of styles. Think Miss Bao’s for plant-powered goodness, Fine Balance Brewing Co. for pizza and beer or Juniper Café for killer breakfast. You can check out a full list on the Kingstonlicious website.
Easy Breezey Packages
