Every year in early June, Ontario sets aside one full week, designated as Local Food Week, to celebrate and recognize the abundance of fresh, affordable local food we are privileged to have access to across the province. This year, the Local Food Week celebration runs June 1-7.
Local Food Week is a celebration of the bounty of fresh, healthy food grown, produced and processed right here in Ontario. Farmers work every day to grow and produce fresh, safe and nutritious food for all Ontarians to enjoy.
It’s a great opportunity to highlight Ontario’s agriculture and food industry and share your love for local food by promoting the more than 200 different products grown and produced by Ontario farmers.
Celebrate Ontario’s bounty of local food this week with us!
Here’s three ways to start:
- Support your local farmers by filling your plates with fresh Ontario grown products.
- Show your love for Ontario food and share what’s on your plate using #loveONTfood across your social media networks.
- Get take out from a Feast On Certified restaurant. They are guaranteed to be sourcing at least 25% of their food from Ontario farmers.
