The York Fork

Just a short drive north of Toronto, York Durham Headwaters is your ideal road trip destination. Spend a crisp fall day savouring the exquisite local food and drink of YDH as you explore your way through open-gate farms, wineries and breweries.

An authentically-Italian wine experience 30 minutes North of Toronto, Gallucci Winery, a family run business in Whitchurch-Stouffville, will prove that you don’t need to drive for hours for noteworthy wine and views! Known for their drier reds and unique white blends, Gallucci has a wine for pairing with whatever your dinner plans are – book a tasting while you’re there, and build your supper around your favourites!

While in Stouffville, pay a visit to chef BFF – King Cole Ducks. A leader in responsible and sustainable farming for over 65 years, King Cole is also led by THIRD generation female farmers! Visit their farm store to discover the amazing range of King Cole products – a succulent duck breast to serve with Gallucci’s smokey Baco Noir, or a confit duck leg paired with Chardonnay. Find recipes and how-to videos on their super handy website!

Onward to Newmarket, make a pit stop at Market Brewing Co. for their crushable, fresh craft beer – from session ales and lagers, to sours and high-octane IPA’s, there’s something for everyone’s 6-pack!

Ten minutes down the road at Market & Co., in Upper Canada Mall is where you’ll find everything your pantry, fridge and bread box could dream of. This 40,000 square foot foodie paradise combines your local baker, pantry, seafood market, produce stand, and juicery all under one roof.

For a sweet finale, swing into Pine Farms Orchard for a freshly-baked apple pie or, if you prefer to DIY, a basket of juicy apples! It’s on the way to Highway 400 but they close at 5pm, so keep an eye on that watch!
