We think not – that’s why we’re so excited to introduce you to Haute Goat.
Haute Goat Farm is a breathtaking 200-acre farm located one hour east of Toronto, just outside historic Port Hope, Ontario in the rolling hills of Northumberland County. The destination is home to a host of farm experiences, a Feast On certified restaurant affectionately called the Screaming Goat Cafe; plus, Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Huacaya Alpacas, Exotic Chickens, Icelandic Horses, Tornjak Livestock Guardian Dogs and one big mule named Lucy Mae Bella.
The farm also offers a number of cool experiences for those looking to immerse themselves in weird and wonderful world of goat farming.
You can book an ‘Alpaca Sleepover’ to spend the night with their Huacaya alpaca herd. The repurposed Alpaca Shed has been converted into a winterized bunkie with a Queen size bed located right in the alpaca enclosure! The experience also includes breakfast for 2 from the cafe featuring loads of locally grown products. If you’re looking for a little more distance from the herd, they also offer a ‘Yome’ experience. A Yome is part yurt and part dome.
Goat enthusiasts can also participate in goat yoga or something called a Shmurgle, described as ‘snuggles, cuddles, hugs’ with the goat herd. For those looking to dig deeper, you can book educational workshops that have you milking goats, pasturing them and even exploring how to ‘leave the city’ – something many of us have been thinking about for the last couple years!
For looking to make a day of it, we highly recommend lunch at the Screaming Goat. On the menu, you’ll find snackables like Farm Fries with truffle oil, Lyndsay Goat parmesan and chives, as well as more substantial nosh like Sourdough Grilled Cheese featuring three types of goat cheese, caramelized onions and spicy mayo. On occasion, the kitchen team also does three-course blind tasting dinners, weekends on the farm.

Haute Goat offers all sorts of delicious creations like Artisan Goat Milk Cheeses, Udderly Ridiculous Goat Milk Ice Cream and Goat-a-Licious Maple and Chocolate Fudge. Our favorites are the super season goat milk caramels – a treat whenever we can get our hands on them!
