Urban Acorn takes their Supper Club online

You read that right.

Our friends at Urban Acorn Catering in Toronto believe food should unite, not divide people. It’s an ethos we can definitely stand behind. For the last few years, they’ve hosted a vegan supper club specifically designed for those with dietary restrictions. Chef Daniel Holloway and his ‘Boss Lady’ partner Marie create beautiful, plant forward dishes that are also beautiful an delicious.

Since the start of this Covid-19 mess, they’ve been trying to figure out a way of continuing the tradition.

Determined to make it happen they’ve introduced a virtual supper experience via Instagram & Facebook.

What does that mean? You select your menu from the options – choosing either the entire dinner menu or the courses you like – and they’ll deliver these items to you by Saturday and walk you through heating, assembly and provide little anecdotes about the dinner. The first menu is vegan and gluten-free friendly, as usual. It’s got delicious bites like Black Bean ‘Accra’ with Roasted Red Pepper ‘ti-malice’ sauce, Cold Green Bean Salad Creamy French Beans and Black Oyster Mushrooms and even a reimagined creme brûlée for dessert.

Here is the note from their newsletter:

It’s been quite the week… and we’ve been keeping busy by prepping orders for our first week of deliveries and thinking of ways to keep the supper club alive somehow. Enter the virtual supper club! We’ve made modifications to the menu and added it to our online market along with a few new pantry items. We’ll be going live on Instagram & Facebook Saturday, March 28th at 6 pm to host a virtual supper club alongside you, answer questions, swear like sailors and hang out with you guys.

We can’t wait!
