Founded in 2018, Feast On Certified Swine & Vine quickly became a local favourite for their small plates, charcuterie and creative cocktails – but like most restaurants, the past two years have brought a lot of change. With these pivots came a reimagining of the restaurant, including a move to uptown Waterloo, a name change to S&V Uptown and owners Jill & Mica Sadler taking their culinary program to another level.
With a renewed focus on local ingredients and sustainability, S&V Uptown brings unpretentious, creative fine dining, innovative cocktails made by our friend and bartender extraordinaire, Aaron Hatchell, and a one of a kind wine program to Waterloo Region. This lead them to create an extraordinary event, the Supper Club series.
With just 30 seats available, these events are intimate celebrations of social dining – something we’ve all missed these past two years. Each event explores food and wine centred around a theme, with a one-of-a-kind menu made especially for the event – focussing on seasonality, sustainability and local sourcing.
Chef Johnathan Gushue recently joined their team as Culinary Director, bringing his experience from noted Ontario (and also Feast On Certified!) culinary gems Langdon Hall and Elora Mill, as well as the magical Fogo Island Inn in Newfoundland. Together, Chef Johnathan and Head Chef Kris Simmons create the 5-course tasting menus featured at the Supper Club events – and they look incredible. Guests get to meet the chefs and hear the stories behind the dishes, the cocktails and the wine pairings.
We’re excited to head to Waterloo and join S&V Uptown on June 2nd, 2022 for their Spring Harvest Supper Club, where we’ll chat about seasonally available ingredients, the importance of sourcing local, and the Feast On program as a whole. Join us for a wonderful evening of culinary exploration and great conversation!
The Supper Club takes place on the first Thursday of each month at
S&V Uptown – 15 King St N, Waterloo, ON.
