Check the most up-to-date travel restrictions before making plans to visit and be sure to contact businesses directly to book reservations, confirm availability, and to learn about health and safety guidelines.

South Pond Farms just revealed some big news! They are opening their beautiful farm this summer for Country Picnics – an idyllic experience you would not want to miss.

Enjoy a good-old fashioned private picnic on South Pond’s lush green grounds. Settle inside the heritage barn or silo or wander the trails and spread your blanket with a grand view of the pond. Tuck into local, farm-fresh goodies and sip on a glass of chilled rosé. Breathe in the fresh country air and take in the surrounding views of the Oak Ridges Moraine. Relax. Unwind.

Curated by owner and founder of South Pond Farms Danielle French, with the hope of connecting people to her farm, and with your safety in mind, the contactless experience includes a 2-hour picnic for two people.

After selecting a picnic time online, you can pick up your South Pond market bag filled with local provisions from some of the best purveyors in the Kawarthas – there’s Metzger’s Meats’ salami, Ontario La Cuture prosciutto, Millbrook Mercantile peppercorn pâté, Triple Cream brie from St. Benoit Du Lac Quebec, award-winning Mariposa Dairy Bandaged Cheddar, Mickaël’s baguette, Erin’s Little Bake Shop butter tarts, Moraine herbs and edible flowers, South Pond’s Sugar Shack Maple Mustard and ‘Hotter than Hades’ honey and more, with an option to add local wine, cider and beer. All these treats come packed in a beautiful, illustrated market bag – a take home for leftovers or goodies from South Pond’s onsite store, and a happy reminder of your visit.

Picnics are available to book online between May – November. And on May 9, they’re offering a Mother’s Day Country Picnic which includes a copy of Danielle’s first book “Mother”.
