With over 200 years of farming heritage, MacKinnon Brothers Brewing Co. is located on a bicentennial family farm.

We’ve taught the Old Dog some new tricks, introducing Black Dog Tavern (Formally Chien Noir Bistro). We have reinvented Chien Noir as a casual neighbourhood Tavern, with a relaxed atmosphere, elevated classic tavern dishes and a plentiful list of libations.

We are a family of locally-owned and operated restaurants located downtown, in Kingston Ontario’s Historic Farmer’s Market district. We support our local community and are committed to using fresh, local, and seasonal products when available. We currently have four unique locations. We strive to create a memorable experience for our guests with our staff’s warmth and hospitality, along with delicious food and drink, all prepared by a team that cares.
