A craft beverage pillar in the Soo, Northern Superior Brewing Co. has been a cornerstone of the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District communities for over a hundred years. Their flagship Northern Superior Lager, a heritage recipe perfected for over a century, embodies the region’s rich brewing history. This crisp and refreshing beer is a nod to tradition while upholding the high-quality craftsmanship that defines Northern Superior Brewing today.

After almost a decade of closure in the 2000s, the brewery was revitalized by three local entrepreneurs dedicated to preserving Sault Ste. Marie’s heritage. They meticulously restored the brewery’s original quality, ensuring that Northern drinkers could continue to enjoy the same taste they’ve loved for generations.

The brewery’s Tap Room features a Taste of the Soo menu, offering rotating selections from local restaurant partners. In-house, they serve a variety of appetizers like warm pretzels with beer cheese, chips with salsa or queso, and delicious charcuterie boards—perfectly complementing their beloved brews.

We recommend grabbing a flight to pair with these nibbles, giving you the chance to explore the full range of beer selections Northern Superior Brewing Co. has to offer.
