Discover Orillia and Lake Country- a hidden gem nestled in between two beautifully sparkling lakes and filled with flavour just waiting to be discovered.
Just 90 minutes north of Toronto, nestled into scenic Simcoe County, Orillia and Lake Country offers breathtaking views of Lake Simcoe, Lake Couchiching and the Trent-Severan Waterway. Of course all that means amazing boating, paddling swimming, water sports and of course…great food to enjoy on and next to the water!
Made up of Orillia, Oro-Medonte, Rama, Severn and Ramara, each cozy spot offers up a unique experience for all and the dining options are pretty endless. Want to relax and enjoy something healthy? Check out the Scandinavian-inspired Vetta Spa. Craving something a bit more rustic? Feast On® certified Common Stove will have you dining around a central wood-fired grill.
Just passing through? We recommend staying a little while but you can still enjoy a taste of Orillia and Lake Country heading in either direction on Highway 11 at Webers or Schnitzel Haus.
Coffee-lovers have plenty of options with bakeries and cafés sprinkled through out the area and of course, you need to grab a pint or two while you’re here.
Want to start planning ahead? Head to the Orillia & Lake Country Tourism website for all the delicious details.
Our ideal escape to Orillia and Lake Country is all about adventure followed by a little relaxation and of course, great food (bet that doesn’t surprise you).
Of course- every good trip starts with coffee and a baked good. We’re all about those Chelsea buns at Wilkie’s Bakery in downtown Orillia or The Cabin Trading Post in Port Severn where they offer up locally-roasted coffee brewed to perfection (s’more latte, anyone?) and breakfast bagels that will knock. your. socks. off. Try the Campfire Bagel which includes a toasted everything bagel, fresh egg, smoked cheddar, tomato, romaine lettuce, zesty Cabin mayo…uh yes please.
After breakfast it’s time to hit the water with a morning canoe or perhaps a fish. With so many ways to be on the water it’s hard to choose just one.
Once lunch rolls around Lucky Labrador Public House, Bluemoon Junction and Tailwinds are all great choices to follow up with a cold beer or cider afterwards from Quayle’s Brewing Company, Couchiching Brewing or Heritage Estates Winery and Cider.
In between, we’re all about relaxing at Vetta Spa with some hydrotherapy, a massage and something light from on-site Savu Bistro.
Finally, when it comes to dinner, we love Picnic Snackbar for tapas inspired by Basque country (Southern France & Northern Spain) and an amazing selection of fresh bread, wine and a bottle shop pantry with plenty to take home!
