Our ideal trip to Six Nations combines delicious food, cultural exploration and loads of time outside. We’d most certainly be visiting Yawékon by Chef Tawnya Brant for a meal of Haudenosaunee fusion cuisine. Past favourites here have included everything from blueberry sweetgrass BBQ’d pulled pork over macaroni and cheese to comforting dishes like bison shepherd’s pie.
When it comes to breakfast, The Village Café and Hill’s Snackbar (they also serve up a mean fish and chips) make for the perfect diner-style traditional fare and the Burger Barn is renowned for those fresh AAA Canadian beef patties known far and wide for those looking for a hit-the-spot meal.
Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention checking out a pop up or two from Esha Eats– a Feast On®-certified foodie experience. We have dreams about her razzle dazzle hot sauce made with wild raspberries…YUM.
If you have some time between all these delicious dishes, checking out the experience packages offered up by Six Nations Tourism is an excellent idea. From beading workshops and tours of the Woodland Cultural Centre to kayaking excursions and two night stays in a luxury cabin or glamping hut, there are so many ways to enjoy beautiful Six Nations of the Grand River.
