From The County to the Escarpment to Lake Erie and beyond, Ontario is growing some beautiful grapes and turning them into some of the best wines weve ever had! This season, OCTAs staff are pouring their 12 favourite VQA wines just in time for the upcoming holiday season. Come discover whats in our glass!
Rosehall Run – named for the nearby town of Rosehall – is know as one of the most exciting wineries in Prince Edward County! Situatued on prime grape growing land on Greer Road in Hillier.
This light and crisp Chardonnay is full bodied with a smooth and mellow finish. Distinct floral aromas add a delicate component. There’s good substance and texture here, though the overall experience is well balanced and elegant. This beautiful vintage would pair exquisitely with a higher fat seafood – think lobster – or would pair equally well with your closest friends!
It’s no wonder this wine took home bronze at the 2012 Wine Access Canadian Wine Awards, Ottawa Wine Challenge and the Intervin International Wine Awards.
If you’re heading to the winery to pick up this beautiful bottle (and we highly recommend it!), come with an empty stomach. The Rosehall Run tasting room doubles as an artisan food market with everything from beautiful County grown and made preserves to spicy, salty Seed to Sausage charcuterie.
