OCTA is rounding up Ontario’s best butter tarts for a sugary sweet showcase of what the province has to offer!
There has been a lot of discussion around butter tarts in the last couple weeks.A� Who did it first? Where’s the best one? Raisins or pecans?
Well, we’re turning this sticky situation sweet by bringing some of the most passionate and talented butter tart experts together in one room to help launch a campaign to officially name June 2014 National Buttertart Month.

On August 15th, OCTA, alongside The Butter Tart Trail, Tartistry, The Kawartha-Northumberland Butter Tart Tour, and The Best Butter Tart Festival are coming together forA�an afternoon celebrating Ontario�s signature dessert.
About The Butter Tart Trail
Who doesn’t like a rich, decadently-sinful butter tart, and on this self-guided road tour, there are at least a dozen varieties you’ll come across. There are also other inventions you may encounter: doggy butter tart treats, pottery trays in homage to the butter tart and scents inspired by them. You may even chance upon a butter tart sundae. It’s an exploration of all things “butter tart” in one variation or another.

Treat yourself to the sweet life in Kawarthas Northumberland while biting into some of the province�s best butter tarts. The Kawarthas Northumberland Butter Tart Tour (facebook.com.com/buttertarttour), featuring over 30 stops–is fresh from the oven and ready to explore.
This Etobicoke shop makes over 12 varieties of sticky, sweet tarts made with the purest ingredients only such as local butter and real bourbon vanilla. They were part of an integral campaign to officially name June 1st as National Butter Tart Day.

This community run festival happens on Father�s Day weekend, bringing together all manner of butter tart lovers for a bake sale, artisan market, and entertainment all culminating in one massive butter tart smack down.
