On November 14th, 2017, prepare for the ultimate Chowder Chowdown as our Feast On chefs bring the heat to Ocean Wise month at this annual event.

The Lowdown on the Chowdown

What is a Chowder Chowdown you may ask? Held at the Fermenting Cellar in the distillery district, this fundraiser will host some of Ontario’s top chefs (including 5 of our Feast On chefs) as they compete for the title of 2017 Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown Champion in Toronto. What a tongue twister that is!  The chef’s creations will be judged by a panel of renown chefs and media personnel, including Martin Kouprie, Brad Long, Kristin Donovan, Pay Chen, and Rita DeMontis. All proceeds directly support the Ocean Wise sustainable seafood program, which helps to ensure ocean life will be abundant for generations to come.

Competitors

This year the list of participating Feast On restaurants includes Bistro ’67, Bruce Wine Bar, Le Select Bistro, PORT Restaurant and The Local Cafe and Restaurant.   Also competing: Cluny Bistro and Boulangerie, Distillery Events, Loka, Pure Spirits Oyster House, Rodney’s Oyster House, Scout Canning, SOCO Kitchen + Bar, the Restaurant at Peninsula Ridge and the Beverly on Locke

Local Craft Beer, Ciders and Spirits  

All that sustainable chowder will probably make you thirsty! Luckily for you there will be no shortage of local libations for you to sip on. Expect to see Side Launch Brewing, Brickworks Ciderhouse, Beau’s All Natural Brewing and Walter’s Craft Caesar Mix (among others).
