There’s nothing more charming than a small town fair. The petting zoos, the grilled corn, the parade’s, that unmistakable smell of ribs on the grill… it’s everything we want from a summer afternoon.
Well, mark your calendars because the Bayfield Fair is just around the corner! What started off as a Ribfest has evolved into a town wide celebration of local food, summer fun and community. This year, it’s all being capped off with fireworks to celebrate the fairs 160th anniversary!
The Rib Fest will again be Friday night with four folks — including Cait Vail from Feast On? Certified Caits Kitchen — grilling up a storm. In true small town tradition, every rack or half rack is served with a cob of Ontario sweet corn and slaw. We can’t wait to see what Cait cooks up!
If ribs aren’t your cup of tea, there’s also a sprawling farmers’ market featuring some of the region’s most amazing finds including pickles, jellies, veggies and loads of heirloom tomatoes.
Music lovers take note: David Wilcox, The Salads and Odd Soul Collective, a group of soul loving musicians from the Exeter area, will be providing the perfect tunes for the day.
Details for all the great events — including Paint The Pony, weekend farmers market, knife throwing and the pop-up food truck festival — will be posted online as they are finalized. Check it out regularly at bayfieldfair.ca
