This January, February and March, leave your winter blahs at home and join some of the city and countrys best chefs at CHEFS FOR CHANGE, five phenomenal nights of food and conviviality thatll warm even the coldest of toes.
Along with its sister event, Restaurants for Change (in the fall), Chefs for Change is calling Canadians to eat with a purpose, convening chefs in unique collaborative settings to create delicious food and opportunities for conversation about how to address the issues facing our food system.
Each night features a unique culinary collaboration by top chefs from Toronto and across Canada. There are five dinners in the series, focusing on five key themes: Dignity, Health, Connection, Community and Empowerment — all central to building a viable, sustainable and secure food system.
So whose cooking this year? Over 50 talented chefs from across the country, including a number of Feast On ambassadors. That means you can be sure local food will be on offer. We’re particularly excited to see what Albert Ponzo of The Royal Hotel; Jason Bangerter of Langdon Hall; Laura Maxwell of Le Select Bistro and Ryan Crawford of Backhouse come up on January 25th for ‘Health’. For a full list of participants, visit their website.
Net profits from Chefs for Change will help Community Food Centres Canada to support vibrant, food-focused organizations that bring people in low-income communities together to grow, cook, share, and advocate for healthy food for all.
