Sticky, Sweet Taste-Off In The Kawarthas

Since the creation of the Kawarthas Northumberland Butter Tart Tour last year, this quintessentially Canadian dessert has enjoyed a sweet ride!

Thirty-seven bakery locations throughout The City of Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough & the Kawarthas and Northumberland County have joined the tour through cottage country.A� Whether you prefer your crust flaky or crumbly and your filing runny or firm, butter tart tourists certainly have many tasty options to discover � to their tart�s content.

While the tour is open all-year round , it’s the The Annual Taste-Off that’s caught our eye! A�This year�s event will occur on Saturday, May 3rdA�fromA�12-4pmA�at the Fenelon Falls Country Living Show to be held at the new Fenelon Falls Arena and Community Centre. A�Eight butter tart bakeries will sample and sell their tarts, and a panel of celebrity judges — including me! — will determine the best tarts in a number of categories. A� It’s a difficult job, but somebodies got to do it!
