Simcoe Launches New Discovery Harbour Local Heritage Dinner

The Simcoe County Farm Fresh Marketing Association is partnering with Discovery Harbour to celebrate their 200th Anniversary with a heritage sit-down dinner prepared by local chefs using entirely local products from Simcoe County.

“This is the first Local Heritage Dinner, with the hopes it will run annually in partnership with Ontario Parks. Simcoe County Farm Fresh is working with the chefs and farms to present guests with not only a fabulous dinner, but an educational historical event surrounding the history of where food comes from and sustaining local production? Says Kim Masin, Marketing Manager for SCFFMA.

It’s slated to be a superb outdoor dining experience on the historic grounds of Discovery Harbour. A�You’ll get to enjoy the best food locally produced and prepared by some of the finest chefs from around the area.

Chefs like Men With Knives Catering, or the team from The Explorers CafA�, Ivars Catering and Grounded Coffee! A�They’ll be creating a British-inspired menu featuring wines from Georgian Hills Vineyard and Coffin Ridge Winery. Farmers and chefs will be on-hand to talk about the foods and give a unique twist about the historical element of food and farming.

As part of Discovery Harbour�s 200th Year celebrations, this unique, heritage inspired dinner on the shores of Georgian Bay will feature a historical theme with local farms, producers and wineries.A� You�ll get a chance to meet some of the area�s quality food producers and outstanding chefs, and also learn about where you can buy or be served your own farm fresh fare.
