Beer-lovers, time to dust off your beloved steins and get ready for Ontario Craft Beer Week! The province-wide festival has been running since 2010 and celebrates the thriving locally-based craft beer industry in Ontario.
Now in its fourth year, OCB Week 2014 will feature 30+ craft brewers producing over 150 events in 50+ communities throughout Ontario from June 13th21st. OCB Week events are hosted at breweries, pubs, restaurants and event venues across Ontario in cities such as Toronto, Guelph, London, Ottawa and communities from Cambridge to Vankleek Hill and from Muskoka to Niagara.
With special events ranging from intimate to festival, OCB Week is designed to expose consumers to the craft beer experience through tasting events, brewery tours, meet the brewmaster, cooking demonstrations, food pairings, beer dinners, music nights, brewery collaborations and one-offs, exciting online contests and much more.
Our communications intern, Alanna, recently attended the launch of the SESSION Session Raspberry & Lemon Verbena Saison beer designed to promote the Griffin SESSION Craft Beer Festival taking place as part of OCB Week in Toronto from June 13th14th. The festival’s theme is Collaboration Nation, and that spirit is encapsulated in the beer, which is the result of a collaboration between Sawdust City Brewing, The Only Cafe, Cest What?, BarHop, BarVolo, The Auld Spot, WVRST, and Brydens.
This year’s Collaboration Nation pairs 30 craft brewers with 30 chosen artists/celebrities to bring a truly unique beer experience to the festival participants. Collaborations have resulted in titles like “Deli Beer” (Barley Days Brewery and Caplansky’s Deli), and “Maple Bacon Apple Cider” (Pommies and Bacon Nation), with many more zany, amazing results to come!
