Listen up local food lovers! This Saturday, September 30th, is the 11th Annual Taste Real Fall Rural Romp, and you do not want to miss out on all the family fun to be had on this self-guided farm and food tour.
What is a Rural Romp?
Families who are the romping sort will explore Southern Wellington County and Guelph while tasting their way through the 14 participating locations, which includes farms, markets, a distillery and an agricultural research centre. You’ll find all your favourite farm activities such as feeding farm animals, farm tours and buggy rides – but you can also expect new games and events such as the ‘Felfie’ Contest (farm-selfie!) and live music.
Not only is the Rural Romp a day packed with fun harvest activities, it is also a chance for you to connect with your local farmers and learn more about where your food comes from. You might also find yourself learning how diverse the local agriculture is when stopping by locations such as the alpaca or ostrich farm.
Where Exactly will the Tour Take Me?
We don’t want to spoil all the fun, but some of the stops along the way include: Dixon’s Distilled Spirits, the Elora Farmer’s Market, Everdale (hint: their carrots are famous!) and Harmony Meadows Alpaca Farm.
