Ontario White Wines You’ll Love All Season

No holiday feast with friends or family is complete without wine, wine, a festive centerpiece, and more wine. Here are some of our favourite bottles of VQA Ontario white that are sure to pair with your food — and ideal budget!

Colio Estate
2013 Bricklayer’s Pinot Grigio-Chardonnay
This pale straw coloured wine is fruit-forward with a whole bushel of apricots on the nose. Pinot Grigio’s signature crisp flavour is layered with orchard fruit like apples and ripe pear.

Peninsula Ridge
2013 Vintners Reserve Sauvignon Blanc
Gooseberry and grass with slight tropical fruit are expertly paired with grapefruit tones and a bit of minerals on the finish. This is an easy food wine and should be served chilled.

Rosehall Run
2015 Righteous Dude Reisling
Niagara grapes meet County sensibilities in this righteous riesling. It’s light, but has undertones of ripe green apples that keep you guessing to the bottom of the glass. There’s notes of that signature Niagara minerality, and a hint of the bubbles… ’cause it’s from The County after all.

Grange of Prince Edward
Traditional Brut
Don’t let the pale colours fool you, the tiny bubbles in this Prince Edward County sparkler carry with them big flavour and plenty of character. Think summer white cherries, fresh brioche and just a hint of apple. Fresh, but balanced acidity.

Le Clos Jordanne
Le Grand Clos Chardonnay 2011
A classic limestone chardonnay laced with surprising green and honey notes. This is a prime example of a craftsmanship in Ontario wine making. It’s a collectors dream; extra dry, full-bodied and lush.
