There’s a new food tour company launching in Niagara this year!
Niagara Culinary Tours will offer walking food tours of St. Catharines and come summer 2014, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Think of it as speed dating with restaurants! It’s a perfect blend of culture, food and history. This your chance to savour what the areas locally owned and operated restaurants have to offer.
Each Niagara Culinary Tour visits at least 4 local restaurants offering up a taste of local cuisine. As per any good tour, along the way your guide will talk about the history of the area and point out cultural landmarks.
?Niagara Culinary Tours began after a trip to Charleston where a food tour inspired us to create their own company. Realizing how incredibly lucky we are to live in Niagara, we knew this was a wonderful way to share their good fortune with others. We have so many chefs known for being locovares, an area steeped in history, surrounded by VQA wines and the Niagara Escarpment. Whether you are a visiting world traveler, a day tripper or a local who wants to stop and smell the prosciutto, Niagara Culinary Tours is for you!? saidASteven and Kimberley, owners of Niagara Culinary Tours.
No word yet what the Niagara-on-the-Lake experience will include, but food lovers in the St. Catharines area have the chance to sample tastes from Carlos Cantina, Sweetie Pies Bakery, Wellington Court and The Merchant Ale House–the citys first brewpub whose house made food is a well kept local secret.
Tours are held rain or shine. AEach route is designed to be a loop of 3-4 km of flat, easy walking, and no alcohol is served.
