There’s a new event hitting the circuit this December, and it’s appropriately called The Canadian Artisan Tasting Fair.
This tastingAexperienceAis bringing back that local food feeling, December 1 at the beautifully restored Artscape Wychwood Barns. Showcasing the best in artisanal foods, the Tasting Fair offers you the opportunity to make surprising new discoveries from more than 40 specially selected food and beverage makers.
Unlike similar events, this intimate affair is more relaxed and creates a friendly delicious environment where you can chat with local bakers, charcuterie makers, butchers and craft brewers. APlus, local restaurants will be serving interpretive plates of cheese, charcuterie and freshly baked goods.ADid I mention you can munch to your heartas content?
They’re bringing some seriously committed food folks to represent Ontario! AKeep an eye out for the Kensington Brewing Company pouring their small batch brews, Sanagan’s Meat Locker serving up all-local meats and pies, Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese from Oxford County and their Swiss style aged cheeses, Seed to Sausage’s wickedly delicious charcuterie in all shapes and sizes and Glory Hole Doughnuts, creators of my new soulmate: the fluffer nutter doughnut.
That’s just a taste at what’s available at the fair. AThere’s over 40 participants–for a full list, visit their website.
The Canadian Artisan Tasting Fair is the creation of Toronto’s Leslieville Cheese Market owner, Michael Simpson. As he explains, a?Throughout the years, Leslieville Cheese Marketas Night School for Cheese Fans has brought people together to explore fine food and drink. We soon realized Toronto needed a platform to bring those passionate about food and drink together with some of the best local producers in our region.a?
The Canadian Artisan Tasting Fair gives smaller-scale producers of exceptionally high-quality food the opportunity to present their fare to a most appreciative local audience. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste, learn and take home.
The historic Wychwood Barns provides the perfect setting for this one-of-a-kind event, where you can mix and mingle.
May we suggest you join us and stock up for the holidays? A
