Make The Most of Winterlude 2015

We know you’re probably looking to curl up with a hot cup of cocoa (or a toddy!) this weekend, but we’ve got a few good reasons you should embrace the cold! Winterlude festivities are in full swing until February 16th and there’s something on offer for everyone! In it’s 37th year now, Winterlude is shaping up to be even bigger and better. The ice sculptures, canal skate and beaver tails are a must for any first time frolicker — but for those who’ve been-there-done-that, we’ve rounded a list of food events to tuck into while exploring our nations capitol.  winterlude12 Chocolate Lovers Tour  We know you love chocolate, so do we! Throughout Winterlude the Chocolate Lovers Tour will be taking place. The tour is hosted by C’est Bon and will take you through the ByWard Market where you will sample some of Ottawa’s best chocolate. Cost is $40.00 per person, plus tax. Find out more here.
Winemakers Dinner with Niagara College Teaching Winery  Indulge in a five-course dinner menu paired with wine from Niagara College Teaching winery. Hosted by Gavin Robertson at Santé Restaurant in Ottawa, the evening is sure to be informative and enjoyable. Find out more here.
Family Friendly Soup  Take the family to explore the Canadian Agriculture and Food Museum. This hands on attraction features exhibitions and delicious foods. On February 16th learn how to make “garbage soup” with the often-wasted produce that sits in your veggie crisper. Find out more here.
