With the warmer weather underway, there’s no better time to enjoy Ontario’s locally-grown, farm-fresh offerings.
If you’re a local food lover, mark your calendar! Ontario’s Local Food Week takes place from June 1 to 7, 2015. You can take part by supporting the 37,000 farm families in this province that supply us with locally produced meats, eggs, dairy products and fresh produce.
Enjoying healthy, tasty and environmentally-friendly groceries is only one of the many benefits of shopping locally. You’ll also be supporting your neighbours, farmers and the local economy!
Plus, you could win some delicious Ontario food prizes by sharing your local food activities on social media! Follow the movement and show your love for #loveONTfood.
Put Friday, June 5 in your calendar for Feast ON Ontario Tourism Day! You’ll be able to sample some of Ontarios best tastes of place with Feast ON at Yonge and Dundas Square. Come by (with your appetite!) between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. for some local food and drink, with 50% of proceeds going towards Community Food Centres Canada.
Be sure to check out loveontfood.com for more information and specific event details. Happy shopping!
