In case you haven’t heard, the beer scene in London is pretty darn sweet right now. It’s no wonder then that tour operators are starting to notice!
Word on the street is that the party bike known as the PedalPub will be rolling out in the London area April of this year.
What’s a PedalPub you ask?
It’s essentially a giant 16 seater tandem bicycle. It will be taking thirsty beer enthusiasts on weekly brewery tours of London. Folks will have the chance to visit four to five of the area’s award-winning breweries — and they’ll be getting their using their collective pedal power.
The PedalPub is being introduced to London by Brad Oke, owner of Smackwater Jack’s in Grand Bend. He’s a good fit for many reasons. Last year, he launched an experience called Tour the Shore, a bus tour of craft breweries, cideries and distilleries in Huron, Perth and Lambton counties.
The stops for the two-hour tour, known as ‘London Libations’ will be east and central London’s growing club of craft brewers. So far the announced stops include Anderson Craft Ales, Toboggan Brewing Co, the London Brewing Co-op, Powerhouse (which will soon open in the old Kellogg plant) and Union Ten, a new distillery soon to open in Old East London.
We can’t wait to pedal our way across London’s beer scene. It sounds like a great way to try local beers and get some (much needed) exercise while we’re at it!
Curious about PedalPub? Check it out at the Toronto Adventure Show from February 23rd to the 25th.
