This Sunday, June 25, the Taste Real Local Food Fest returns to Guelph Wellington in the Ignatius Jesuit Centre. Get ready for a day full of skill building workshops, demonstrations, live-music, tours, kids activities, local food and craft beer!
You may remember that this super fun event was the winner of our 2015 Event of the Year Award? Well, it’s gotten even better since those days.
Ten amazing instructors will be on site to teach you and your pals about traditional food preparation skills. There will also be free workshops about butter and cheese making, fermenting, foraging, butchery, cider making and many, many more.
A local food lunch will be prepared for the hungry crowd, the perfect pairing for craft beer from Wellington Brewery, Royal City Brewing and Elora Brewing Company. Cider lovers take note: this will be one of the first opportunities to try Heartwood Farm and Cidery, as it will be launched at the event!
Just like the food, the music has an all-local line-up! Swing to the beats of Ever Lovin Jug Band, Madison Galloway, Greg Denton and the Probable Cause Trio, and Andy Hughes!
Come over with the whole family! There will be many fun family activities, such as wagon rides, face painting, and a kids activity area. The little ones even get a chance to use their green fingers at the ?Grow Your Own Veggies workshop.
Dont forget to bring your shopping baskets and picnic blankets! Enjoy local products and homemade goods from the farmers market and 50 exhibitors. If you can’t wait until the event to discover who’s there, there’s a full list of sponsors, vendors and the activities here.
