Lightly hazy medium copper; the nose has aromas of caramel malt, ginger, orange peel, cinnamon and clove spice; the palate is medium bodied and moderately carbonated, with flavours of toasted malt, gingersnaps and spice cake.

Barley Days Brewery
Yuletide Cherry Porter  |  LCBO #96651
With its velvety texture and crimson hue, this brew will definitely warm you up on winter nights. Malt and hops mingle with Ontario cherries to create a lush flavour in this unfiltered specialty brew.

Grand River Brewing
Jubilation Spiced Ale  |  Available at the Brewery.
This strong ale changes every year sometimes spiced with candied orange peel, nutmeg, cloves, cardamom and hot peppers or kept just as a nice crisp doppelbock. You’ll have to visit the brewery to find out what Brewmaster Rob Creighton came up with this year!

Highlander Brewing Company
Blacksmith Smoked Porter  |  LCBO#362772
Brawny complex malt. Notes of dark chocolate, dark roast with burnt espresso edges, hints of maple and mellow, smoke peat. Pairs well with chocolate, stews, steak, venison, wild game and rabbit — in other words, this bear was made for holiday feasts!

Neustadt Springs Brewery
Big Dog Beaujolais Porter  |  Available at the Brewery.
Dark, smooth rich, and enhanced with 3% Pelee Island red wine giving it a subtle fruitiness that offsets the deep rich bitterness of the original porter, this beer pairs perfectly with any of your holiday desserts.

Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co.
Winter Brewed  |  Best of Beau’s MixPack
Winterbrewed is an amber ale is infused with Mexican micro-lot organic fair trade coffee from Bridgehead — an Ottawa based coffee institution. Fruity nuances of lime and peach show up alongside a bold roasted coffee presence, which is interwoven with caramel inflections from the malt.

And don’t forget, tis the season for holiday mix packs! Check your local LCBO store for assorted craft beer bundles from The Ontario Craft Brewers, Railway City, King Brewery, Mill St., and more!

Many of our favorite craft beers are also available through Savvy Hip Hops — a cool delivery service that sources hard-to-find craft beers delivers them right to your front door every month.
