On the evening of October 21st, restaurants across the country are raising awareness about food insecurity, and donating the proceeds from their foodservice to Community Food Centres Canada.
Funds raised on October 21st will support healthy food access and empowering food programs in low-income communities across Canada. In cities where there is a Community Food Centre, proceeds will be shared between that centre and Community Food Centres Canada. Other funds raised help CFCC support more than 75 Good Food Organizations across Canada with an annual conference, grants, training, program resources, and other capacity-building tools. Last year restaurants and sponsors raised $120,000 to support local organizations and a national movement for good food for all. This year, CFCC is hoping to raise even more!
It’s an important conversation, and we’re proud to say that here in Ontario, a number of #FeastON designated restaurants have stepped up to participate. Check out one of the Restaurants for Change below for dinner on October 21st:
