#FeastON Nights : Student Takeover

What are #FeastON Nights?

This autumn, Feast ON certified restaurants across the province will be offering unique and exclusive dining experiences with a strong focus on local food and drink. They�ll be designing experiences that fit their individual styles and offer up a unique experience not available on the day-to-day. Every experience will celebrate our amazing Ontario beef and cow�s milk cheese producers. The series will not only showcase the great products that this province has to offer but also help foster a deeper relationship between you and your food. Some will even allow for a behind the scenes look at how your food gets to you!

We thought we’d take a closer look at some of the people who are providing these amazing experiences, and we’re going to start with Chef Thomas Heitz from Horizons, at Centennial College in Toronto.

When asked about Centennial College’s participation in the Feast ON program, Chef Thomas Heitz had this to say:

“At Centennial College we strive to support local communities through economic development and sustainable procurement. We want to promote excellence in food tourism by instilling the values into our culture and every student at Centennial College.  We are leaders in paving the way to the future in our students to become socially responsible as global citizens.  We encourage our students to make the connection with respect to local farming and agriculture and make conscious decisions, to set examples and educate others. Centennial College participation in Feast ON ensures we are well on our way to meeting our goal!” 

Horizons at Centennial College is a proud member of our Feast ON program, and a champion of local food and beverage. When asked what he loves about the Feast ON program, Thomas said:

“I love the fact it is a great way to build relationships and meet like minded individuals who’s passion is to enjoy life, good local food & beverage and growth for their local community. Feast ON instills pride in oneself, in community and in others.  Feast ON bring the best out of people!”
