“Field to Fork” Conversations & Connections-strengthening our local food chain.
Monday January 28. 2019 5pm -7pm
If you grow, make an edible product, serve or sell food in your business, this event is for you.
Would you like your Local product featured in Local Shops or Restaurants? Would you like to know how buying local can positively effect your bottom line? Would getting pre season sales help you to plan out your schedule?
Would more infrastructure such as an abattoir, egg grading station support your farming initiatives? Would you like to see municipal governments supporting a healthy Local Food Chain through changes in by-laws?
Hear from our speaker Terri Mathews-owner of Rhubarb Restaurant, how much they spend annually on various products that could and are being produced locally. Rhubarb is the only “FeastON” certified Restaurant-invoices are checked annually to prove % of local products to qualify. There are opportunities to get more local products into our businesses and that is a win/win for tourism and our local economy.
Catering by Rhubarb-Local beef from Waverley Brook Farm, Local Chicken from Killara Station, Local Coffee from County Coffee, Beer tasting from both our Local breweries with cash bar. Tom Regina-Jazz flute
