On October 17, over 75 restaurants across Canada will be donating proceeds from their dinner service to support Community Food Centres Canada. The campaign is called ‘Restaurants for Change‘ and it requires nothing of you, the diner, than dining!
Here’s how it works: You make a dinner reservation at a participating restaurant on Oct. 17, 2018, and go out to eat that night. The restaurant will donate from 50% to 100% of total food sales from dinner service to support community food programs in low-income neighbourhoods. That’s it! That’s how you dine out to do good.
Since 2014, Restaurants for Change has raised over $700,000 for empowering programs that provide access to healthy food, and build better health, skills, and belonging.
There’s some really amazing Ontario restaurants on board for this year. You can do good by slurping a hot soup at The Quirky Carrot in Alexandria; digging into an Artisan Farms striploin at The Bruce Hotel in Stratford or enjoying the Linc Farm lamb shank ragu at Backhouse in Niagara-On-The-Lake.
There are almost a dozen Feast On Certified restaurants participating this year too! That means you can support community food programs AND local farmers at the same time. We call that a win-win!
Make a dinner restaurant at Backhouse, The Quirky Carrot, The Bruce Hotel, Cafe Belong, Maple Leaf Tavern, PORT, Quetzal, or Richmond Station to name a few.
There’s also a sweet contest happening too.
Let the crew at CFCC know where you’re going out to eat on October 17 and you’ll be entered into our draw to win a $250 gift card for the restaurant of your choice! Just fill out this quick form.
