We’re proud to partner with Centennial College throughout the year on curriculum development, Feast On certification and educational resource creation. That’s just one reason why we’re excited to see their Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts faculty grow. Cyrus Cooper has joined Centennial College School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts as Professor. Cyrus brings an impressive background in food and beverage management and hospitality leadership experience to the College, built on the solid foundation of his Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University. This summer Cyrus was instrumental in helping the College launch the “How to Create a Positive and Inclusive Workplace” program in partnership with Restaurants Canada. On July 11, 2018, he hosted a webinar for all Restaurants Canada members to provide key insights into how operators can establish and foster these types of work environments to build success within their organizations. Cyrus has spent the last 10 years progressing through a number of key roles within some of Canada’s most prestigious brands. Cyrus was most recently Director of Food and Beverage Operations for Pusateri’s Fine Foods and previously Director of Food and Beverage at the Granite Club in Toronto. Prior to that he worked at Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants including Auberge du Pommier, O&B Café Grill and Jump Restaurant all before becoming Director of Restaurant Operations for the brand. His signature drive, ambition and focus on service and leadership became his defining hallmark. In 2008 Cyrus was awarded one of the Ontario Hostelry Institute’s Top 30 Under 30, further recognition of his ambition, drive and impact. Cyrus maintains an active role as member on the selection committee for the OHI. He also holds the position as President of the Ryerson Hospitality Alumni Association. Cyrus will be taking on the academic leadership of one of the School’s fastest growing and most sought-after programs of study as Professor and Program Coordinator for the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Management Graduate Certificate.
