Besides getting to hear some awesome live tunes from Wintersleep, The Strumbellas, Gentlemen Husbands, and Jimmy Bowskill — there’s some great edible reasons for why we’re ridiculously excited to dance the night away at Cultivate this year.
What started as local food with an IndieGoGo campaign to help celebrate Northumberland and Peterborough, has turned into one of the most anticipated food festivals on the year. Cultivate is year-round initiative to bring consumers closer to the food that they eat and the festival is slated to be a weekend-long celebration of year-round efforts the great chefs, farmers and restaurants that make the area so special.
So what’s on the menu? Chef Isaac from Feast ON Certified, The Social is leading the pack and surely serving some of his celebrates ‘Sociables’. You can also savour snacks from Electric City Bread Company, Rare Grill House, Pitchers Place, Olympus Burger, The Mill Restaurant and Pub Burnham Family Farm Market.
The festival itself is the second festival in Ontario to receive official Feast ON Certification — that means that you can be sure the food on your plates and the drinks in your glasses are coming for this big, bountiful province of ours.
