Celebrated beer festival returns to Windsor-Essex

Windsor, ON // The highly anticipated Windsor Craft Beer Festival is celebrating 7 years as the region’s original craft beer festival. With the cancellation of the LaSalle Craft Beer Festival this year, the Windsor Craft Beer Festival has once again become the only opportunity for craft beer enthusiasts to enjoy a festival created just for them.

The region’s first festival dedicated to craft beer takes place October 18-19, 2019 at Willistead Park with craft brewers from across the province, including Windsor Essex, participating.

“We have a lineup of brewers with a few old favourites and a few new and exciting breweries,” explains Adriano Ciotoli, one of the festival organizers and co-owner of WindsorEats.  “Brewers are bringing special one off brews that can only be tasted at this event.”

Since the festival began seven years ago, the craft beer scene in Windsor Essex has grown significantly. When the festival first opened its gates seven years ago there was only one craft brewer in the region. The festival helped bring a sense of excitement to the craft beer scene and has help foster economic growth in the industry.

The event has been a great success since its inception and this year doesn’t look like it will be any exception.

“Tickets have been selling since last year’s event ended,” says Ciotoli.  “Saturday has been a sell out for the last 3 years and we anticipate it doing so again this year.”

New to the festival this year, Muskoka Brewery is bringing one of their Moonlight Kettle Series, the GhoST-out. A white stout, it is a one off limited edition beer created through a competition at the brewery.

Also, back by increasing popular demand is the Detroit Party Marching Band. The Detroit Party Marching Band is a guerilla band from Detroit, Michigan often appearing at events unexpectedly. Its repertoire is a mix of Balkan and Balkan-inspired songs, and modern pop and R&B rearranged for brass, usually by the members themselves. Rather than using a stage the band immerses themselves into the crowd allowing participants to be a party of the energy. They have been a staple at the Windsor Craft Beer Festival for the past six years and are always a highly requested and anticipated act.
