Are You The Next Tin Chef?

The City of Toronto — champion of diverse food and drink, defender of the back-yard chicken coop and devoted follower of all things charcutiere — is gearing up for its favourite winter sport – eating out! On February 3rd, MILDRED’s Temple Kitchen joins the City of Toronto’s 2015 Winterlicious frolic to host its annual ‘Tin Chef’ Competition, one of the many exciting Winterlicious culinary events. Hosted by Chef Donna Dooher, five amateur-chef contestants will roll up their sleeves, sharpen their knives and compete for this coveted award. Contestants have a total of 60 minutes to demonstrate their kitchen skills and share their passion for food as they craft a delicious dish featuring a secret ingredient. And to turn up the heat, they will be slicing and dicing in front of three top Toronto chefs and a very intrigued live audience.  Last year’s contenders Ronn Reaman, Meghan Legere, Jill Chen, Deborah Brewster and winner Gav Martell will combine forces to see who wins the People’s Choice Award. If you can’t boil an egg but love a good kitchen party then join the cheering section – get up close and personal with the contestants and chefs. The culinary team at Mildred’s will keep you well nourished throughout the excitement of the evening with delicious fare, savour and sweet. At the end of the night, one new Toronto culinary talent will be revealed to take home the coveted Tin Chef title.  It all comes down to taste, creativity and that extra ‘wow’ factor.     How to Apply?
