The beautiful, orchard-dotted region between Creemore, Collingwood and Owen Sound is affectionately called Apple Country — and it plays host to one of Ontario’s most unique culinary experiences: The Apple Pie Trail.
It’s long been celebrated for it’s innovative apple farmers, plethora of award-winning cider houses and committed to outstanding, engaging adventuring for all. There newest endeavour has us excited to the core!
On June 7th, Ontario’s largest apple growing region is playing host to it’s first ever Apple Pie Trail Ciderfest
. It’s going to be eleven days of cider pairings, special events, tours and menu features from Duntroon to Collingwood, Blue Mountain, Beaver Valley, Thornbury and Meaford.
Participating cideries include Duntroon Cyder House, Beaver Valley Cidery, Coffin Ridge, Ardiel Cider, Great Canadian Cider Company, Reinhart’s Light Cider, and of course, Thornbury Cider Hous
e, who’s offering up decadent dessert pairings for their Cranberry Apple Cider from The Thornbury Bakery.
There’s a BBQ in the Orchard scheduled, a sunset cider cruise and plenty of special menus featuring all manor of apples and apple products from the area too.
We’re particular excited for the return of Three Pigs, One Chef
at Coffin Ridge featuring the team from Casero’s in Owen Sound. It’s your chance to tuck into gourmet pork fare while wetting your whistle on local cider. Lively, rambunctious and whimsical music will be on offer too thanks of Dave Borins & The Winos!
